My husband and I purchased my parents’ five acres and mobile home/add on after my daddy passed away in August of 2012. Since then we have been on an overwhelming, often harrowing ride to make it our own. Our inexperienced selves thought it would be a great idea to get rid of the mobile home (due to many issues), so we set out to remove it from inside the rest of the structure. We then rebuilt half a house from the ground up. It was a time full of lessons – most of which I hope to never have to relearn.
We continue to finish our home (which, in the process of restructuring, we turned into a duplex), all while raising our two boys, working, and adventuring in our great state of Alaska. I recently quit my full time job to stay home with our kiddos. Now I’m learning what it’s like to be a stay at home mom and blogging my experiences along the way. My blog is a place for me to chronicle life’s lessons, hardships, joys, and pains and, hopefully, to be a help to you along your journey.
I also own Noble Business Services where I offer bookkeeping and financial services to small businesses and non-profits. The nerd side of me sometimes comes out in a serious way. If I ever start talking about balance sheets and cash vs. accrual accounting and statements of cash flow and benchmarking, just stop me. Because this blog is a place for me to be a mommy and to help you in your mommy journey too. (But seriously if you want to know about balance sheets, etc., you can hop on over to my website where I blog about those topics!).
I am passionate about raising godly children, budgeting (in a serious way!), increasing our family income, pursuing the best marriage possible, and embracing life with everything I am. My chief aim is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever. Have a look around Of Moose and Munchkins and let me know you’ve been here by leaving me a comment!
(Also, my Of Moose and Munchkins Facebook page is pretty amazing…give me a thumbs up if you would please!).
