If you’re anything like me, you may have had a time or two when you had no idea what to give that guy in your life. Whether he’s your husband, father, brother or son, buying gifts for guys can be quite a challenge. My husband definitely prefers gifts of the more expensive variety, but it’s not always feasible within our budget to oblige him.
I’ve put together this list of great gifts for guys. I hope it helps you find the perfect gift for the guy on your shopping list!
My husband hooked me on cast iron skillets soon after we got married. This was actually his gift to me a couple of Christmases ago and I love them! I asked him for a 10″ skillet and he gave me a 12″ skillet, a 14″ skillet and a massive 20″ skillet. What can I say – he’s an overachiever!
If your guy likes to cook at all, then I highly recommend cast iron. It lasts forever, and once seasoned properly, is the best non-stick pan ever (the Lodge skillets I have come pre-seasoned). You could even throw in a couple extras like this silicone handle or a cast iron cookbook.
My husband loves maps. When we first got married, he would spend hours looking at maps and making various exclamations when he discovered something new. He’s also quite the geography whiz (which goes without saying for someone who studied it like he has). But although he had flat paper maps, he didn’t have a globe. When I bought him a 16″ globe, it was truly the best gift I’d given him. He loves it and uses it all the time. Even if the guy on your list isn’t a map fanatic, perhaps he’d appreciate this world map metal wall art (I know, I know…it’s not a budget friendly gift, but I just can’t help myself from loving it!). Wouldn’t that look fabulous in a office?
Most guys like ice cream and they seem to like it even better if they make it themselves. I gave this as a gift to my husband and he’s used it multiple times. He is an experimenter, so even though he also received an ice cream recipe book, he was trying out his own creations right away.
Does your guy do much wood cutting? My husband was an arborist (fancy name for the guys who do tree removal) before and shortly after we got married, so gear like this was always a necessity. He still cuts down trees (we heat solely with wood). Add some chaps to this helmet if you have a larger gift budget to truly give him everything he needs to stay safe doing his work. (If you buy these as a set, it ends up being cheaper.)
All the guys in my husband’s family love these gloves. They wear them for everything from commercial fishing to chopping and carrying wood to clearing snow off the cars. These are definitely go-to work gloves and would make a great gift for that hardworking guy in your life.
It gets pretty dark for many months up here in Alaska. While it doesn’t bother me much, it does mean that much outdoor work has to be done in the dark. A headlamp like this makes those winter chores easier. This one has rechargeable batteries which I know would be a much-appreciated feature for my husband. He’s gone through several of the really cheap kind that work but don’t last. Surprise your guy with a headlamp that will stand the test of time!
My husband loses all sense of time when he’s taking a shower. This waterproof clock is actually something that he’s asked me for but I haven’t gotten yet. If your guy tends to try to be very productive, then this clock along with a waterproof notepad for jotting down his brilliant ideas would make a great gift. Add in a waterproof Bluetooth speaker and his shower time just might become his favorite time!
I hope this list has given you some ideas of gifts for guys you have in your life. I try to make notes of things that my husband expresses interest in or ideas I have throughout the year so that on his birthday or Christmas I have some ideas to work with.
Let me know some of your ideas of gifts for guys! Leave me a comment if you found this list helpful!
