Have you ever looked at the swimwear available at the store and cringed at the thought of actually wearing it to the beach? There have been some modest swimsuit options popping up online in the last several years but sometimes they can run on the too expensive side of things.
Everyone’s definition of modest is a slightly different, but this swimsuit, (although cute) is not what I would consider modest. I am looking for something that covers cleavage and thighs in order to be considered modest.
When we were heading to Seward this weekend, I knew we’d be spending at least a little time on the beach. I pulled my swimwear out of my closet and looked for some options to make it more appropriate for public.
Make a Swimsuit Modest – With Items Already in Your Closet!
Although I do wear sleeveless shirts and dresses, my swimwear has spaghetti straps, which is not something I’m comfortable in. It also showed too much cleavage to fit my modesty classification. To remedy that problem, I decided to try it on with my plain white Spanx Shaper Tank underneath.
That fixed the majority of the problems, but the skirt portion of the swimsuit was a bit on the too-short side. To fix this, I simply added a pair of leggings. (*Note to self* Make sure the leggings are snug on the waist so they don’t slip off when wet!).
The result was a swimsuit that I could feel comfortable in but which was also functional and cute. I had a blast playing in the water and splashing my sisters. 🙂
